Cape Cod Community Club Helps Families in Need

The Cape Cod Community Club, a buy-local consumer savings program which also raises monies for Cape-wide charities is now helping families in need.

The Club is a partnership with Shaw’s & Star Market and more than 100 local businesses.

Shaw’s & Star Market offer $5.00 off a $50+ purchase, every time the Club members shop. In addition they offer Club exclusive product coupons.

The local businesses, which include restaurants, retail stores and services, offer savings as well. This includes large purchase items such as furniture, bedding, tires, kitchen & bath product, flooring and more.

Cape Cod Angels is the Club’s matching donation program. For every donated membership, the Club matches it. With the initial support of Shaw’s & Star Market, the Club will distribute 500 pre-paid membership forms to families in need.

“Providing great overall value to our customers is an ongoing responsibility at Shaw’s,” said Shaw’s Regional Vice President Paul Nerney. “Partnering with The Cape Cod Community Club allows Shaw’s to give back and enhance the quality of life for our customers.”

“Putting food on the table is a top priority and we’ve expanded our efforts to identify those families who need it most by adding food pantries and local housing authorities.” said Geoff Rose, founder of the Club.

According to Geoff, “almost all the local housing authorities agreed to accept the Free memberships as well as food pantries including, The Family Pantry, St. Francis Food Pantry and the Lower Cape Outreach.”

Tom Lacey, Executive Director of the Falmouth Housing Authority, said, “we are very pleased to be a part of this program. These memberships will be well received by our residents.”

There is still a long way to go, as the Club has identified more than 5000 families served by food pantries and local housing authorities.

The annual membership is $29.00. Any individual or business can donate a membership and become a Cape Cod Angel. The donor can chose a specific food pantry or local housing authority assuring that the program helps in each local community.

Memberships may be purchased and donated at www.capecodcommunityclub.com.
